Poland will ban the entry of passenger cars registered in Russia from Sunday, state-run Polish news agency PAP reported, citing Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski.

Poland's Interior Minister, Mariusz Kamiński, announced a ban on passenger cars registered in Russia from entering Poland. The new regulations came into force at midnight on Sunday, September 17, 2023. This decision was made in response to the European Commission's guidelines prohibiting the entry of Russia-registered cars into the European Union. The ban applies to all passenger cars, both commercially used and privately owned, regardless of the owner's nationality. It is part of the sanctions imposed on Russia and its citizens in relation to the brutal invasion of Ukraine. Poland has also extended similar restrictions to Russian trucks, tightening its border controls in response to the ongoing crisis.
