Estonia is sending support to Latvia to combat irregular migration at the border, according to Minister of the Interior Lauri Laanemets.

Estonia is sending support to Latvia to address a surge in irregular border crossings from Belarus. The Estonian Interior Minister, Lauri Laanemets, characterized these incidents as hybrid attacks by Belarus on neighboring countries. Latvian border guards recently stopped 103 people on Monday and 70 on Tuesday from crossing the border. In response to Latvia's request for assistance, Estonia is dispatching a team of 10-20 people under the name ESTPOL-8 to help with border patrols and mass control efforts. Estonia is committed to assisting Latvia for as long as needed and is prepared to rotate support teams as required.
